Julie Boyd

Julie is an accomplished speaker having given many speeches both formal and informal during her career as Mayor and since then. She has a recognised leadership capacity having been elected as the first female Mayor of Mackay, one of the then fastest growing regional cities. She held that position for 11 years from 1997 -2008.

Whilst she has reduced her public speaking in the past few years, due to Board commitments, being the keynote speaker at a Women in Leadership forum, reignited her interest and passion for public speaking. She has a particular interest in gender equality, diversification and justice.

Julie has more than 4 years’ experience working in the export sector as Special Trade Representative for the Qld Government. She has consulted to both the public and private sectors on strategic engagement, stakeholder relations and governance. She has also been a director of a family company for more than 25years.

Julie is an experienced Non-Executive Company Director with a diverse board portfolio career with more than sixteen years’ experience as Chair and Director. A skilled communicator, Julie is passionate about the organisations and boards on which serves.

Julie is a Fellow of AICD and an accredited coach and mentor.
