Janelle is a specialist construction lawyer, a savvy business woman and a legal disruptor. She is passionate about women embracing leadership and blazing a trail down the path of their choosing.
Janelle spent 6 years as a partner in a national law firm where she was the youngest appointment ever to partner and the first woman for the Brisbane office. She left in 2016 and established Helix Legal, a new breed of legal business for the construction industry. In 2017 Helix Legal was awarded a position on the LexisNexis and Janders Dean 2017 Legal Innovation Index for its scalable practice costing on a project basis to maximise operational efficiency, and development of LawLancer, a digital marketplace connecting law firms and other legal service providers with law students on a freelance basis.
Janelle was the 2017 winner of the National Association of Women in Construction achievement as a business woman award, a runner up in the Greater Brisbane woman in business of the year award, a finalist in the Lawyers Weekly women in the law executive of the year award and a finalist in the Brisbane Young Entrepreneur of year awards.
In 2013 Janelle completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors course. She is a past Board member of the National Association of Women in Construction and the Power of Engineering Advisory Board.
