Lisa McAdams

Lisa is a domestic violence survivor, strategist and solutions consultant. Lisa is a natural educator. She is a professional speaker who utilises her life experience to connect and relate to the audience.  She uses her knowledge of domestic violence and the corporate landscape to educate people in workplaces so they gain insight and understanding on this complex and emotional subject, the signs and how to communicate with those impacted by domestic violence.

Lisa is passionate about educating in the workplace. Because she understands the impact of financial abuse and knows continued employment is key for financial stability along with psychological and emotional well-being.  She is an amazing woman with an amazing story to tell. Born in the south of England. Lisa had a successful career in financial management with a multi-national consulting company.

Lisa left the career she loved and moved to Sydney with her abusive partner. But, despite being subjected to over three decades of abuse, both in childhood and in her marriage. she escaped and created a life most would envy.

Lisa shares her experience and wisdom on how to heal and create a life that is fulfilling even after decades of abuse, and how after an accident that nearly killed she made the decision to live the best life possible.  Although her story is harrowing, Lisa engages the audience with her signature wit and intelligence. Because she believes that through laughter we are more receptive to understanding even when the content is hard to hear.

Audiences come away both educated and moved having been encouraged by Lisa’s sheer grit, determination and of course her sense of humour.  Her recent speaking engagements include a keynote address for the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet for International Women’s Day and a guest speaking role to Generation Next on Relationships and Consent.

Lisa is releasing her first book mid-2018.
