Sonya Beyers

Sonya is a lawyer, specialising in providing governance and leadership solutions for forward-thinking organisations.  She serves on the board of the BUSSQ Industry Super Board, the Horizon Housing Company Ltd, The Forde Foundation and the Queensland Law Society Not-For-Profit Committee.

Sonya made the move from a corporate law career to focus on governance so she could combine her expertise with her love of connecting with people.

With a strong interest in applying neuroscience to decision-making to create high-performing boards, Sonya believes today’s leaders face challenges that provide an extraordinary and exciting opportunity to create fundamental and wide-ranging change within their organisations and the business sector as a whole. 

She relishes the opportunity to unravel the complexities and issues of governance and future-focused strategic planning in changing times, and creating solutions specific to each individual organisation including public companies, government-owned corporations, statutory bodies, professional bodies, charities, private companies, and trusts.

Sonya’s speaking engagements are varied and include her professional areas of governance and legal matters, the role of Boards and director mindset, leadership, and the importance of networking.
